Karthik Subbaraj Surprises Fans with a Revelation About Suriya44: It’s Not a Gangster Film

Kollywood star Suriya, fresh off the buzz surrounding his PAN-Indian action drama Kanguva, is gearing up for his next venture, tentatively titled Suriya44, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. While fans have long speculated that the film is a gritty gangster drama, Karthik Subbaraj recently made a surprising revelation, putting these rumors to rest.

In a recent interview, Karthik Subbaraj shared, “People always expect me to make gangster films, but Suriya44 is not a gangster story. It’s a love story at its core, with plenty of action.” He further added, “I’ve been wanting to explore a love story for many years, and I’m thrilled to have Suriya sir and Pooja Hegde on board for this project.”

With the production completed in just five months, the film is set to hit theaters in Summer 2025. Produced under Suriya’s 2D Entertainment banner, Suriya44 will also feature music by Santhosh Narayanan. The excitement around this unique love story packed with action continues to grow, leaving fans eagerly awaiting its release.
