Lal Jose’s next after Velipadinte Pusthakam is with Sreenivasan!

Director Lal Jose’s last release was Velipadinte Pusthakam with superstar Mohanlal. The movie wad released amidst high expectations for the Onam season but mostly garnered mixed reviews from the critics. The movie eventually managed to do some average business thanks to Mohanlal’s star power and the smashing success of ‘Jimikki Kammal’ song.

As per latest reports, the director is now planning to start his next film with Sreenivasan in the lead. This yet-to-be-titled movie is scripted by Unni R, noted for his works like Munnariyippu and Charlie. Earlier this year, Lal Jose and Unni R were supposed to team up for ‘Oru Bhayankara Kamukan’, a romantic thriller with Dulquer Salmaan. However, it now looks like that project has been shelved due to the star’s commitments in other industries.

Shebin Backer who was supposed to produce Oru Bhayankara Kamukan is funding the upcoming Sreenivasan film as well. This is his second film with director Lal Jose after producing the 2013 hit film Pullipulikalum Aattinkuttiyum. This upcoming movie is being planned to go on floors on January 25.

Lal Jose and Sreenivasan share a wonderful rapport as they have worked together in a good number of films. In fact, the director’s debut film ‘Oru Maravathoor Kanavu’ starring Mammootty was scripted by Sreenivasan. Arabikkatha, unarguably one of Lal Jose’s best films till date also had Sreenivasan in the lead role. So, the Malayali audience are expecting another quality film from the duo when they team up next year.
