Mammootty as the mastermind John Abraham Palackal in ‘Pathinettam Padi’

August Cinema is one of the leading production houses in Malayalam film industry. The banner has produced many hit films like ‘Urumi’, ‘Indian Rupee’, ‘Anuraga Karikkin Vellam’, ‘The Great Father’ and the recently released ‘Theevandi’. Next to come out from the banner is ‘Pathinettam Padi’, a movie starring newcomers in the lead roles. Actor-writer Shankar Ramakrishnan is making his directorial debut with this movie.

Last day, a surprise announcement was made by the makers through their social media handle. Megastar Mammootty is playing a major role in ‘Pathinettam Padi’. His character named John Abraham Palackal is the mastermind of all the proceedings. It is an extended cameo role and the star’s presence has created quite a buzz in social medias. Fans as well as cine buffs are eagerly waiting to know more about the movie and his character details. It has been confirmed that there will be some other big stars in the cast. Though the official announcement is yet to be made, movie lovers are already excited about it.

Pathinettam Padi’s lead cast includes youngsters from all 14 districts of the state. The makers had earlier organized an action workshop for the newcomers, which had caught media attention. Kaecha Kampakdee, one of Indian cinema’s leading stunt choreographers was brought in to train the actors.

With Mammootty’s addition to the cast and the mystery surrounding his character, ‘Pathinettam Padi’ has managed to create the right buzz. Some other big announcements are on the way. So stay tuned to this space.
