Mammootty-Ranjith new movie titled as Puthan Panam

We had earlier reported that ace filmmaker Ranjith will be directing his next movie with Mega Star Mammootty.

Earlier it was reported that the movie was titled as Vamban, and it will be a mass entertainer. But the director had declined the news about Vamban.

Now we have got exclusive reports that Ranjith will be directing Mammootty in the new movie titles as Puthan Panam (New Indian Rupee).

It is very interesting to note than the new movie has been announced exactly a day after the government had illegalized the existing 500 and 1000 rupee notes for new 500 and 2000 rupee notes.

Ranjith had earlier directed a movie titled Indian Rupee starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Tilakan in the lead roles. The movie was a brilliantly made satire which won the National award for the best feature film in Malayalam in the year 2011. It is not sure whether the new movie, Puthan Panam is a second part to Indian Rupee.

Ranjith had earlier joined hands with Mammootty for movies like like Kaiyyoppu, Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha and Pranchiyettan and the Saint. Ranjith had also assured that this new film will be entirely different from the combos earlier movies.

Puthan Panam will be produced by a new production company 3 Color Cinemas. Director Ranjith, actor Arun Narayanan and Mumbai based businessman Abraham Mathew together own the company.
