Mammootty’s next titled Kannur Squad

Mammootty’s next with cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Roby Varghese Raj has been titled ‘Kannur Squad’. The makers unveiled the title and first look last day. Said to be a thriller, the film reportedly has Mammootty in the role of a police officer. Shabareesh Varma, Rony David, Azeez Nedumangad, Sajin Cherukayil and many others are part of the cast.

Muhammed Shafi has penned the story of ‘Kannur Squad’ based on real-life incidents. He along with actor Rony David Raj have written the screenplay. Sushin Shyam composes the music and cinematography is by Muhammed Rahil.

‘Kannur Squad’ is produced by Mammootty Kampany. It is said to be the banker’s biggest production till date. ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’, ‘Rorschach’ and the upcoming Jeo Baby directorial ‘Kaathal’ are the other films backed by the production house.
