Mani Ratnam likely to team up with Vijay Sethupathy for his next

Ever since Kaatru Veliyidai released, there have been a lot of speculations about who will play the lead role in Mani Ratnam’s next film. Ram Charan, Abishek Bachchan, Naani, Fahad Fassil and Madhavan were some of the names that were doing the rounds in connection with his upcoming movie.

However, latest reports from Kollywood medias suggest that Mani Ratnam might rope in Vijay Sethupathy, the most happening actor in K -Town for his next flick. Reportedly, Vijay Sethupathi had recently met Mani Ratnam at his office to discuss about this project.

Vijay Sethupathi is currently basking in the sensational success of his latest outing Vikram Vedha, a cop-gangster drama also starring R Madhavan. The ‘Makkal Selvan’, as he is popularly called, has been getting rave reviews for his outstanding performance as Vedha, a grey shaded ruthless gangster.

If Mani Ratnam manages to get Vijay Sethupathy on board for his next flick it will be a huge treat for their respective fans. The director is known for sketching solid characters that will provide great scope for perfomance. And with an excellent actor like Vijay Sethupathy, the impact will be multifold.

Mani Ratnam’s last release Kaatru Veliyidai, a highly anticipated love story starring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari, was a disappointing affair at the box office. So the director will be itching to get back to some much needed success. Vijay Sethupathy’s new found crowd puller image will also be helpful in reaping commercial success.
