Mohanlal as Mambarakkal Ahamad Ali in “Khalifa”; Prithviraj–Vysakh film confirmed to have a second part

Mohanlal appears as a guest star in Khalifa, the upcoming film that brings together the team of Prithviraj, Vysakh, and Jinu Abraham. Mohanlal will play the character named Mambarakkal Ahamad Ali in the film. Moreover, it has been officially announced that the film will have a second part, with Mohanlal playing the lead role in that sequel. Reports also suggest that Prithviraj Sukumaran, who plays the lead in the first part, will also be part of the second installment.

The dialogue about Mambarakkal l Ahamad Ali, featured in the glimpse video released on Prithviraj Sukumaran’s birthday had gone viral on social media. The characters Mambarakkal Ahamad Ali and Mambarakkal Aamir Ali were introduced to the audience through the dialogues of the character portrayed by Indrans. Prithviraj plays Mambarakkal Aamir Ali, the grandson of Mambarakkal Ahamad Ali, in Khalifa.

The film is produced by Jinu Abraham and Suraj Kumar under the banner of Jinu Innovation. Co-producer: Sijo Sebastian. The glimpses video hinted that Khalifa is a big-budget entertainer set against the backdrop of gold smuggling. The film is said to feature a star-studded cast and is being made as a mass stylish action thriller. The film’s tagline is: “Vengeance will be written in gold”.

After Pokkiri Raja, Vysakh and Prithviraj reunite for this project, which began filming in the first week of August this year in London. Dubai, India, and Nepal are the other major locations of the film. Following their collaborations in Adam Joan, London Bridge, Masters, and Kaduva, the Jinu Abraham–Prithviraj team reunites once again for Khalifa, which is slated for release during Onam 2026.
