Nedumudi Venu passes away
Veteran actor Nedumudi Venu passed away on Monday (October 11). He was admitted at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday in a serious condition. He had earlier recovered from Covid-19 infection. He was 73.
In a career spanning nearly five decades, Nedumudi Venu has acted in more than 500 films, mostly in Malayalam and some in Tamil. He has also written screenplays and has directed a feature film. He has won three National Film Awards and six Kerala State Film Awards.
Nedumudi Venu was born as Venugopal to PK Kesavan Nair, a school master and Kunjikkuttiyamma in 1948. After graduating from SD College, Alappuzha, he worked as a journalist and later as a teacher in a tutorial institute. He started his acting career in theater before his entry in cinema.
Nedumudi Venu is married to TR Susheela. The couple has two sons, Unni and Kannan.
