Oppam Telugu version Kanupapa gets a release date

After Pulimurugan, another Mohanlal movie gets a Telugu dubbed release. Oppam is titled as Kanupapa in Telugu. According to sources, the movie will be releasing on December 30.

Oppam recently became the second highest grosser in Mollywood beating the previous record set by Drishyam. This movie directed by Priyadarshan has Mohanlal playing a blind man’s role.

It is a crime thriller which focusses on a blind man trying to protect a girl from a serial killer. Kollywood actor Samuthirakani played the antagonist in the movie.

Oppam was released during the Onam seaosn and was straightaway opened to great reviews. It was the fastest Malayalam movie to reach 50 crores before Pulimurugan bettered the record.

The massive success of Mohanlal’s last release Telugu release Janatha Garage where he played the lead with superstar Jr NTR expanded his fan base in the state.

Inspired by the success of Janatha Garage, Pulimurugan’s Telugu verison Manyam Puli was released this Friday in around 350 theatres.

Reportedly, the movie has made a huge opening with collections amounting to around 5 crores from the first day itself. Now expectations are high for Oppam Telugu version, Kanupapa also to get a great opening.

Oppam also stars Vimala Raman, Anusree, Nedumudi Venu, Meenakshi, Renji Panicker, Chemban Vinod, Kalabhavan Shajon and many other actors in supporting roles. The movie was produced by Mohanlal’s home production banner Aashiravad Cinemas.
