Oru Kuttanadan Blog director Sethu to team up with Asif Ali for Maheshum Marutiyum

Sethu of the popular Sachy-Sethu combo turned an independent filmmaker in 2018 with the Mammootty starrer ‘Oru Kuttanadan Blog’. He is now set to helm his second film, this time with Asif Ali as the lead. The film has been titled as ‘Maheshum Marutiyum’ and it will be produced by veteran actor Maniyanpilla Raju.

According to Sethu, ‘Maheshum Marutiyum’ is a triangular love story between Mahesh, a girl and a Maruti 800 car. The story revolves around Mahesh’s emotional attachment to the vehicle and how things change after a girl enters his life.

Apparently, ‘Maheshum Marutiyum’ was supposed to be Sethu’s directorial debut. However, when he got an opportunity to direct Mammootty, he went ahead with ‘Oru Kuttanadan Blog’. Pre-production works are already underway.

Asif Ali meanwhile has a bunch of promising projects lined up. He was shooting for Rajeev Ravi’s cop-thriller ‘Kuttavum Shikshayum’ when the lockdown was announced. ‘Kunjeldho’ directed by RJ Mathukutty is most likely to be his first release once theatres resume functioning. He also has ‘Ellam Sheriyaakum’ with Jibu Jacob, ‘Thattum Vellattam’ with Mridul Nair and and an untitled film with M Padmakumar coming up.
