Official: Dulquer Salmaan to play an army officer in his next Telugu film!

On the special occasion of Dulquer Salmaan’s birthday, a big announcement of his new Telugu film has been made. Hanu Raghavapudi of ‘Padi Padi Leche Manasu’ fame will be directing the film. Swapna Cinema, one of the producers of Dulquer’s maiden Telugu film ‘Mahanati’, will be bankrolling this one as well. Priyanka Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies will be presenting the film, which is yet to be titled.

From the announcement poster, it is learnt that Dulquer Salmaan will be playing the role of an army officer named Lieutenant Ram. It seems to be a love story set in the 1960s. Reports suggest that ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo’ fame Pooja Hegde will be paired with Dulquer in this film. The makers are yet to confirm it.

Dulquer is already familiar with the Telugu audience thanks to the huge success of ‘Mahanati’, in which he played the role of late actor Gemini Ganesan. ‘Kanulu Kanulanu Dochayante’, the Telugu version of ‘Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithal’, also had a fair run in the Telugu-speaking states. Thanks to the star’s wide popularity in the South, the new film directed by Hanu Raghavapudi will be released in Tamil and Malayalam as well.
