Pretham fame Shruti Ramachandran in Asif Ali’s Sunday Holiday

We had earlier reported that Bicycle Thieves director Jis Joy’s new movie Sunday Holiday will feature Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali in a major roles. Latest addition to the team is Pretham fame Shruti Ramachandran.

Shruti confirmed that she will be playing one of the two female leads, in a recent interview. However, the actress remained tight lipped about her charecter in the movie.

Director Jis Joy had earlier said that the movie will have a very realistic romantic thread that will be very different from what we have seen lately. According to him, the movie will have a two layered narrative. One is all about an incident that happens on a particular Sunday, while the rest follows the life of a band set master and his son.

Alencier Ley is playing Asif Ali’s father in this movie. Director Lal Jose, Siddique, Sreenivasan and Asha Sarath also feature in important roles. The team recently wrapped the shoot and are planning to release the movie by May.

Asif Ali’s next release will be Honey Bee 2 : Celebrations, sequel to the 2013 superhit movie Honey Bee. The movie, directed by Jean Paul Lal will hit screens on March 23.

Apart from that he has three other movies awaiting release- debutant Rohit’s Adventures of Omanakuttan, Shanil Muhammed’s Avarude Raavukal and Ratheish Kumar’s Thrissivaperoor Kliptham.

He has also signed for Sidharth Bharathan’s Varnyathil Ashanka and an yet-to-be titled revenge thriller with director Arun Kumar Aravind. It is based on legendary filmmaker Padmarajan’s short story and is written by his son Anandhapadmanabhan.
