Prithviraj and Mammootty to face off this Christmas!

We are nearing the end of another eventful year that saw the release of many acclaimed and commercially successful films in the Malayalam industry. The year-end Christmas season is nearing and some biggies are lined up for release.

Megastar Mammootty’s mass action thriller Masterpiece is perhaps the most anticipated among the Christmas releases. The movie directed by Ajai Vasudev of Rajadhiraja fame features Mammootty as a college professor. Udhayakrishna, fresh from the record-breaking success of Pulimurugan, has scripted this film. It is a campus based thriller with an elaborate star cast.

Mammootty’s mass avatar as professor Edward Livingston aka Eddy is eagerly awaited by the fans. The makers had informed that the movie will have six riveting action blocks choreographed by some leading stunt masters. Masterpiece looks very promising from a commercial point of view. Udhayakrishna is known for scripting commercial masala entertainer and Masterpiece is no different. The movie is certain to have a good run in the box office.

Another exciting Christmas release is Prithviraj’s Vimaanam. The movie directed by debutant Pradeep M Nair is inspired from a real life person who built an aircraft on his own. Prithviraj is playing a deaf and dumb person in the movie and it is said to be one of the most challenging characters he has done till date. The actor had even shed around 10 kilos for sporting distinct looks as the story traverses through different timelines.

So with Prithviraj and Mammootty locking horns, a mouth watering contest is on cards. More films are expected to join the Christmas race as the festive films generally manage to do good business.
