Prithviraj sheds weight for his upcoming movie Vimaanam

Prithviraj is one of the very few actors of this generation who is willing to go to any extent to get into the skin of a particular character. Be it developing a chiselled physique to play a stunt man in Diphan’s Hero or learning deep sea for playing his part in Anarkali, the actor is game for all.

For his upcoming movie Vimaanam, Prithviraj has once again reduced his weight. He is playing the role of a deaf and mute person in the movie. He plays different life stages of the protagonist, who is a high school dropout. Since the film traverses through different stages, the actor had to sport distinct looks.

Prithviraj had shot for some portions during the first schedule that was held few months back. The second leg of shoot commenced recently and he looks a lot leaner now. There are also reports about the actor enrolling for flying classes as his character in the movie demanded such skills.

Vimaanam, directed by debutant Pradeep M Nair is inspired from the life of a hearing and speech impaired person Saji Thomas, who built an aircraft on his own. The movie is not a biopic on Saji’s life. It will have a beautiful romantic track also and newbie Durga Krishna is playing the female lead.

Nedumudi Venu, Lena, Aanandam fame Anarkali Marikar, Alencier Ley, Praveena, Sudheer Karamana, Saiju Kurup, Shanthi Krishna and many other prominent actors are also part of the cast. Vimaanam, produced by Listin Stephen is being made on a big canvas involving a lot of VFX works for the flying scenes.
