Pushpa 2: The Rule Tackles Censorship Challenges Ahead of Grand December 5 Release
The highly anticipated Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, is set to release on December 5, but not without facing significant scrutiny from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The sequel, directed by Sukumar, received a U/A certificate after making several modifications to comply with the board’s requirements.
Reports suggest that the makers were instructed to remove excessively violent scenes, including one showing an amputated leg flying through the air and another featuring Pushpa holding a severed arm. Additionally, the CBFC demanded the deletion of specific words from the film, such as “r***i,” “Denguddi,” and “Venkateshwar,” citing concerns over language sensitivity.
Initially slated for release in August, the film faced production delays before locking December 6 as its release date. However, the makers recently announced that the release has been advanced by a day.
Pushpa 2: The Rule continues the saga of Pushpa Raj, a smuggler navigating the treacherous world of red sandalwood smuggling. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli, Fahadh Faasil as SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, and features Sreeleela in a special dance number.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, with music by T-Series, the film promises an action-packed cinematic experience.
