Second part for Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Thira ?

Thira, directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan was released in 2013. The movie was a thriller that had Dhyan Sreenivasan and Shobhana in the lead.

Thira, co-written by Vineeth Sreenivasan and Rakesh Mantodi was planned as a trilogy. There are unconfirmed reports about the second part being planned. Reports started surfacing social media pages last week coinciding with the third anniversary of the movie.

Dhyan Sreenivasan uploaded a Facebook post on the third anniversary of the movie. He had written, that he will not be part of the second part. He also jokingly asked his brother director Vineeth Sreenivasan whether he will be casted in the last part. This post triggered speculations about the sequel to Thira. Still there has been no official word regarding the truth behind these reports.

The movie dealt with the serious issue of illegal trafficking of girls. Shobhana played the role of Dr Rohini Pranab in the movie.

Thira ended with a phone call from a character named Amar to Rohini Pranab. So it is expected that the second part will be an extension of this character. Let us wait for an official confirmation from Vineesh Sreenivasan himself
