Soori to play the lead in award-winning filmmaker Vetrimaaran’s next

A big surprise dropped in last day when it was announced that Soori will be playing the lead in ace filmmaker Vetrimaaran’s next. Apparently, it is a fun-filled family entertainer that will be made on a big budget film. Elred Kumar of RS Infotainment is producing it. More details regarding the project is expected to be revealed soon.

Trade analyst Kaushik LM has tweeted,

Surprise news : #Soori to play the lead role in director @VetriMaaran’s next film to be produced by RS Infotainment Elred Kumar. This film is going to be made on a really big budget. A laugh riot and a thorough family entertainer on the way.

A winner of multiple National awards, Vetrimaaran is known for helming films like ‘Aadukalam’, ‘Visaaranai’ and ‘Vada Chennai’. He is currently working on a Dhanush starrer named ‘Asuran’. The actor-director duo also has the second part of their gangster trilogy ‘Vada Chennai’ in the pipeline. Around 20% of the second part has already been shot.

It must be noted that Soori and Vetrimaaran have not worked together before. So it will be interesting to see how the director moulds an actor like Soori to play the lead in a big budget film.
