Suresh Gopi to star in Nithin Renji Panicker’s next after Kasaba

For over the past one year or so, there have been reports about ‘Kasaba’ fame Nithin Renji Panicker helming the sequel of Suresh Gopi’s yesteryear blockbuster ‘Lelam’. Renji Panciker, who penned the original, was scripting the sequel as well. However, it is now being reported that the project has been shelved for now and instead Suresh Gopi-Nithin team will be collaborating for another film.

Nithin himself is scripting his yet-to-be titled sophomore film, which will also have Lal in a major role. It will be produced by MK Nasser under the banner of Goodline Entertainments. Apparently, it is an Idukki based film that will have both Suresh Gopi and Lal in equally important roles.

National award winner Nikhil S Praveen, noted for his work in Jayaraj’s highly acclaimed films ‘Bhayanakam’, will be cranking the camera. Casting and other pre-production works are progressing in full swing and the makers are planning to start shooting from August end.

Suresh Gopi has also committed for veteran Sathyan Anthikad’s son Anoop Sathyan’s directorial debut. Shobhana and Nazriya Nazim are also part of the film, shoot for which is also scheduled to begin this year itself.
