Suriya-Gautham Menon film in Navarasa is based on a famous Ilaiyaraja song

We had already reported about Suriya and Gautham Menon teaming up for a segment in the upcoming Netflix anthology ‘Navarasa’. In a recent interview, the director revealed that the film is based on a popular Ilaiyaraaja song. Apparently, Menon had sought permission from Ilaiyaraaja before using it in the film. Suriya is said to be playing a musician’s role in it. Malayali actress Prayaga Martin plays the female lead. Ace cinematographer PC Sreeram wields the camera for this film.

‘Navarasa’ is a 9-part anthology film with each segment based on the 9 human emotions or navarasas. Karthik Subbaraj, Karthick Naren, KV Anand, Ponram, Rathindran Prasad, Arvind Swami, Bejoy Nambiar and Halitha Shameem have also directed a segment each. The cast includes popular names like Arvind Swami, Vijay Sethupathi, Revathy, Prakash Raj, Nithya Menen, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Rajesh, Poorna, Rythvika, Gautham Karthik, Prasanna, Bobby Simha and Vikranth. Mani Ratnam is headlining this ambitious project.
