The Zoya Factor: Dulquer Salmaan’s new Hindi film set to go on floors

Dulquer Salmaan’s Hindi debut, Karwaan got released on August 3. The movie also starring Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar in lead roles has got good response from the critics and continues to do well in theatres. Meanwhile, Dulquer is getting ready to start shooting for his next Hindi film, The Zoya Factor. The movie which has him paired with Sonam Kapoor is the big screen adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s 2008 best seller novel of the same name.

The Zoya Factor is slated to go on floors from the end of this month. Abhishek Sharma, who has helmed movies like The Shaukeens and Tere Bin Laden, will be directing this movie. Zoya Factor, the novel is centred around Zoya Singh Solanki, a PR executive. Zoya was born on the exact moment when Indian cricket team had lifted the 1983 World Cup. She is considered as a lucky charm by the Indian team and media. While everyone consider her lucky, team’s captain Nikhil Khoda and Zoya are always at loggerheads as the former doesn’t believe in luck but relies on performance. Zoya keeps clashing with the Indian skipper, and what follows is a love-hate relationship.

While Sonam Kapoor plays the role of Zoya, Dulquer Salmaan will be essaying captain Nikhil Khoda’s role in the movie. Reportedly, Dulquer is taking up basic circket coaching prior for playing the skipper’s role. More details about the other cast and technical crew are expected to be announced shortly. Fox Star Studios and Adlabs Films are jointly funding the movie which is scheduled as an April 2019 release.
