Vijay Sethupathi celebrates his National Award win!

When the 67th National Film Awards got announced last day, Vijay Sethupathi was declared as the Best Supporting Actor for his terrific performance in ‘Super Deluxe’. The actor played a trans woman named Shilpa in the film and his performance was unanimously praised. The film Thiagarajan Kumararaja directorial also had Fahadh Faasil, Samantha Akkineni, Ramya Krishnan and director Mysskin in the lead roles

Right after the awards got announced, Twitter saw an overflow of congratulatory messages for Sethupathi. He then tweeted thanking the film’s director Thiagarajan Kumararaja and all those who wished him. He was shooting for his new film with director Ponram when the announcement was made. The team celebrated by organizing a cake cutting.

This is not Vijay Sethupathi’s first win for ‘Super Deluxe’. He had earlier won the Best Actor Award at the 2019 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. The film also garnered the ‘Equality in Cinema Award’ at the festival.
