Aaha teaser: Indrajith’s film is about Kerala’s own sport vadamvali

We had earlier reported about Indrajith Sukumaran starring in new film titled ‘Aaha’. It is a sports flick based on Kerala’s own sport, ‘tug of war’ aka ‘vadamvali’. Debutant Bibin Paul Samuel is editing and directing the film. Its teaser has been released online through Mohanlal’s social media handle and it looks highly promising. Tobit Chirayath has scripted the film, which is inspired from a famous team ‘Aaha Neeloor’ from Pala. In the 2008 season, they had won a staggering 72 matches out of the 73 they played.

Along with Indrajith, the film also stars Manoj K Jayan, Amit Chakalakkal and Ashwin K Kumar in major roles. Santhy Balachandran of ‘Tharangam’ and ‘Jallikattu’ fame plays the female lead. According to the makers, shoot was a very challenging experience as it was filmed in over 84 locations with 148 technicians and around 6000 artists.

‘Aaha’ is being produced by Prem Abraham of Zsa Zsa Productions. The film has a relatively new set of names behind the camera. DOP Rahul Balachandran, music directors Sayanora Philip and Shiyad Kabeer (background score) comprise the core technical crew. The makers are planning an April release.
