Vijay Sethupathi’s Laabam looks like a socially-relevant film; Watch the trailer here!

The trailer of Vijay Sethupathi starrer ‘Laabam’ has been released online. National award winning filmmaker SP Jhananathan is helming the film. The director is noted for his films like ‘Iyarkai’ and ‘Peranmai’. Like his earlier films, ‘Laabam’ also looks like a socially relevant one that discusses about the plight of the farmers in the country today.

Vijay Sethupathi plays a character named Pakkiri, who is the leader of the farmers association. Shruti Haasan essays a character named Sriranjani, who is a singer who travels to different places to educate people. Jagapathi Babu plays the the antagonist’s role. ‘Madras’ fame Kalaiyarasan, Sai Dhansika and Daniel are also there in prominent roles.

On the technical front, D Imman is handling the music department and the film has cinematography is by Ramji. Director Arumugakumar and Vijay Sethupathi are jointly producing the film. The makers are planning to release the film in theatres once the Corona-crisis gets over.
