Aadu 3: Third part in Aadu series to be made in 3D format?
Aadu 2, the sequel of Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu, is still being screened in a few centres in Kerala. Taking everyone by surprise, the movie has managed to do some phenomenal business at the box office. Following the huge success of the second part, talks are already on about the possibility of a third installment in the series.
Actor-producer Vijay Babu in a recent interview hinted that they are planning to make the third part in 3D format. Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but it will be massive if the makers can successfully pull of such an innovative idea.
All the characters in the Aadu series enjoy a cult status among the Malayali audience. Such is the popularity that many social media users have been requesting the makers to attempt a spin-off on each character. Aadu is probably the only movie in Malayalam cinema, and among the very few in world cinema to have a second part for a flop movie.
Upon its theatrical release in 2015, Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu was a commercial failure. But it found popularity among the masses soon after the DVD release. The huge success of Aadu 2 once is a testimony to that. Director Midhun Manuel Thomas rectified all the mistakes from the first part and delivered Aadu 2 as a much better entertaining mass action-comedy. Releasing last Christmas, Shaji Pappan and gang set the box office on fire. Now, everyone’s eagerly waiting to hear about the next part. Let’s hope they make an announcement soon.
