Drishyam 2 to start rolling from August 17
As announced earlier, Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph are reuniting for the sequel of their 2013 blockbuster film ‘Drishyam’. It is heard that the second part is set to go on floors from August 17 in Thodupuzha. Antony Perumbavoor is producing the film under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. As the Covid-19 threat fails to budge, the makers will be taking necessary precautions while also following all the protocols laid down by the government.
It must be noted that the Kerala Film Producers Association and Film Chamber were against the shoot of new films. According to them, new films should be commenced only after the completion of ones that were stalled due to the lockdown. Filmmakers like Lijo Jose Pellissery, Aashiq Abu, the actors’ body AMMA and FEFKA have expressed their displeasure over the producers’ decision. With a superstar film like ‘Drishyam 2’ set to start shoot, all the current issues are likely to be resolved soon.
Hopefully, Malayalam film industry will resume functioning normally very soon.
