Fahadh Faasil himself came forward to play the villain role in Kumbalangi Nights: Syam Pushkaran
Recently, it was announced that Madhu C Narayanan, a former associate of Dileesh Pothan and Aashiq Abu, will be directing a movie titled Kumbalangi Nights. National award winner Syam Pushkaran is scripting this movie which stars Fahadh Faasil, Shane Nigam, Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi and newcomer Mathew Thomas in the lead roles. The movie’s official announcement was made only a few days back through social medias.
Kumbalangi Nights, according to Syam Pushkaran, is a family entertainer. Shane Nigam, Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi and Mathew Thomas play brothers in the movie. Fahadh Faasil, who won the National award for best second actor last year, is playing the villain’s role. The actor has been experimenting a lot with his characters of late and it will be exciting to watch him play a negative role.
In a recent interview, writer Syam Pushkaran revealed that it was Fahadh Faasil who insisted to do the villain role in Kumbalangi Nights. After hearing the plot, Fahadh himself came forward and expressed his wish to do that part. Fahadh and Syam Pushkaran share a great rapport as they have worked together in movies like 22 Female Kottayam, Iyobinte Pusthakam, Maheshinte Prathikaram and Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum.
According to Syam Pushkaran, Kumbalangi Nights is his first attempt in scripting a modern family drama. The whole team is excited about the movie, which they call an experiment of sorts. Its technical crew includes cinematographer Shyju Khalid, music director Sushin Shyam and editor Saiju Sreedharan.
Syam Pushkaran along with Dileesh Pothan have launched a new production house named Working Class Hero and Kumbalangi Nights is their maiden venture. They are funding the movie jointly with Fahadh Faasil’s banner Fahadh Faasil and Friends. The movie is all set to go on floors in August this year.
