Joju George earns praise for his fantastic performance in Joseph
Joju George’s Joseph had hit screens last day and opened to largely positive response. After a slow start at the box office, theatres are now witnessing good occupancy. Positive word of mouth in social medias is attracting more audience to theatres. The movie directed by Padmakumar is a social drama that is high on emotions.
Joju’s stellar performance as a retired policeman is the movie’s backbone. The actor is getting appreciation from all corners for his act. Of late, the actor has only been doing performance oriented roles and Joseph is easily his career-best. The character goes through a lot of emotions and he has played it very naturally. His transition from a happy family man to a depressed loner is convincingly brought out on screen. The actor is sure to grab more meaty roles after this movie.
Director M Padmakumar, who is well known for his films like ‘Vargam’, ‘Vasthavam’ and ‘Shikkar’ has made a strong comeback with ‘Joseph’. The movie is scripted by Shahi Kabir, a police officer in real-life. That authenticity and proper attention to details are there to be seen in the movie.
Along with Joju, the movie also stars Dileesh Pothan, Irshad, Anil Murali, Madhuri, Malavika Menon, Jaffer Idukki, Sudhi Koppa, Johny Antony and Athmiya in supporting roles. It also has a solid technical crew. Manesh Madhavan, who won the Kerala State award last year for his work in ‘Aeden’, is the DOP while Kiran Das of ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’ has handed the edits.
Joju himself has produced the movie under his own banner.
