After Mohanlal, now it’s Jayaram in trouble with elephant tusk issue

Years back it was a breaking news when super star Mohanlal’s and mega star Mammootty’s houses were raided by Incom Tax officials and both landed in trouble with various reasons. Mammootty had landed in trouble with some financial issues regarding the tax payment and Mohanlal had landed in trouble regarding the tusks of an elephant which he kept in his house among his antique collections. It was a gift given to him by one of his friends as he is very fond of antique things. Mohanlal had license to keep it as well. But at the time of that raid Mohanlal was not there to provide it as he was busy with the shooting of a film. Later he solved it by providing the license but it was something troubled him a lot that time. Now it’s the turn of actor Jayaram too fall into the same kind of issue.

Jayaram is popular for his love for Elephants and he had one Elephant on his own once. Recently he had wrote a book about his experiences with elephants and Mammootty launched it as well. In that book Jayaram told about his good memories with an elephant named Raveendran and after the death of that elephant, the temple authorities had handed over the tusks of that elephant to Jayaram as he had an emotional attachment to that Elephant. But this revelation landed him in trouble as the central forest department IG had ordered to find out that whether Jayaram had the license to keep Elephant tusks in his hands or not.

The rule is that after the death of an Elephant who is the property of a particular temple, the temple authorities have to give the tusks of the elephant to forest department. So if they give it to Jayaram and made some documents for that, it is illegal says the Heritage Animal Task Force Secretary, Mr. Venkitachalam. It was him who lodged complaint against Jayaram and the IG’s order was came in the light of this complaint. The name of Jayaram’s book is ‘Aal Koottathil Oarana Pokkam’.
