Ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam is gearing up to start shooting for his next film – a multi-starrer. The director has pulled off a casting coup of sorts by roping in Arvind Swamy, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Simbu, Jyothika and Aishwarya Rajesh for the movie. It is reported that all the actors will have equal scope for performance in the movie.
In a recent press meet, Vijay Sethupathi said that his is a full length character and will be a very unique one. As per trustworthy reports, Vijay Sethupathi will be donning the khakis in the film. He will be playing a full length police officer’s role. His act as a tough and no-nonsense cop in the 2016 action flick ‘Sethupathi’ was widely praised and earned him a ‘mass’ image among the audience. The movie also stars senior actors Prakash Raj and Jayasudha in prominent roles. Apparently, they will be seen playing a couple and Arvind Swami, Fahadh Faasil and Simbu will be seen as their sons. The female leads – Aishwarya Rajesh and Jyothika – have also been cast in pivotal roles which will have ample scope for performance.
Mani Ratnam has also brought on board his regular set of technicians- composer AR Rahman, cinematographer Santhosh Sivan and editor Sreekar Prasad. This yet-to-be-titled film is expected to go on to the floors by the end of this month with the team currently busy with pre-production work.
