Aamir Khan’s Dangal enters the 500 crore club
Aamie Khan starrer Dangal was released on December 23rd to enormous reception. The movie opened to massive collections after garnering unanimous positive reviews from the critics and the masses. According to trade sources, the movie has now entered the 500 crore club.
After grossing a whopping Rs 379.73 crores (nett. 271.24 crores) from the domestic market, the film has also grossed 139.42 crores at the overseas box office. The movie now stands with a global total collection of 519.15 crores.
The movie surprisingly continues to collect amazing amounts even in the second week. The trade analysts were stunned as the movie registered a whopping Rs. 31.27 crore on its 10th day, an amount that is higher than its first day collections of Rs 30 crore.

The movie is going unstoppable at the box office. By the end of the 2nd week, Dangal is expected to become the highest grossing Indian movie in 2016 by beating Salman Khan’s Sultan which had a mammoth collections of Rs 570 crores gross worldwide. The movie will be eyeing to break the record of another Aamir Khan starrer PK which holds the record for the highest grossing Indian film ever with collections of Rs 725 crores.
Dangal is a sports drama directed by Nitish Tiwari. The movie is inspired from the real life story of Mahavir Singh Phogat, a wrestler from Haryana who trained his daughters – Geetha Kumari Phogat and Babita Phogat- to world class wrestlers. The movie shows the emotional journey of the father in training his two daughters from their childhood. Fatima Sana Sheikh, Suhani Bhatnagar, Zaira Wasim, Sanya Malhotra and Sakshi Tanwar essayed pivotal characters in the movie.
