Indian cinema’s most anticipated movie in recent times, Baahuabli 2 The Conclusion finally hit screens yesterday. The movie was opened to phenomenal response from the audience across the world.
Baahubali 2 was released after a long wait of 21 months. It was releasing simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi languages in 6500 screens all over India.
According to trade sources, the movie has grossed Rs 121 crores from all the four versions on the opening day. On Saturday, it was has reportedly grossed a whopping Rs 150 crores.
In Kerala, the movie had a record release in a whopping 320 screens. This SS Rajamouli directorial registered a new record in the Kerala box office raking in Rs 5.90 crore on the opening.
The movie toppled the record of Mammootty starrer The Great Father which had grossed Rs 4.31 crores on the opening day. Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali ranks second in the list of highest opening day grossers with Rs 4.20 crores followed by Mohanlal’s all time blockbuster Pulimurugan..
Baahubali 2 The Conclusion is expected to cross the landmark 1000 crore mark and become the first ever Indian movie to achieve the feat. It is worth a mention that the movie has already registered a pre release business of over 500 crores through the distribution, satellite, audio and video rights.
