The money game continues for Baahubali in box office and it seems the race horse is still on its mission to topple many records at Indian box office history. We had been reporting its gross collection all over the globe for past four days and as we reported the film had crossed 200 crore in just 4 days of its theatrical run making a new record in Indian box office. And now the 5 days collection is also out which makes the total gross of the film to 230 crore. But we have to see that there is considerable amount of drop in collection from the last 4 days.
Trade guides suggests that it is about 40% drop in the box office gross on its 5th day compared to the opening day collections. This classic flick was continuously getting above or around 50 crore in the first four days and on the fifth day it has dropped down to around 25 crore. The Hindi version of the flick has so far got around 30 crore and continuing to do good business at weekdays as well.
The flick which is made on a budget around 250 crore seems to have now earning the profit from its 5th day itself. The 230 crore in 5 days itself a new record in Indian box office and it had surpassed the record holder PK this time and if it had to beat PK in all- time record grossing section then it will have to collect close to 650 crores from all around the globe. The drop in collection may be a barrier to achieve it but the makers hope that it will pick up this weekend on its collections. This weekend has a flurry of big releases in Bollywood and Kollywood and that can take away some screens from Baahubali as well.
It has already broke the records set by Shankar films Enthiran and I and become the fastest film to reach 200 crore from south India as well. The heartening thing is that the flick’s advance booking stats are still going strong everywhere and that itself giving us the hope that it will pick up again in this weekend.
