Kasaba Collection Report – 7 Days
Kasaba, the film conceived by Nithin Renji Panicker with Mega Star Mammootty in the lead, had completed a successful first week in screens here in Kerala. The film which is made as a mass masala entertainer mainly aimed at the diehard fans of Mammootty and they had accepted the flick with both hands. It had shown a fabulous box office performance in its first week of run here, thanks largely to the weekend gross of 7.36 crores it earned from 4 days.
Because of a Thursday release, the flick had got one extra day in its first weekend and the genre of the movie had did the rest. Maximum audience came to watch the movie in its first weekend itself thanks to the hype it created before the release and that helped it to reach that figure we mentioned above. On its 7th day, the flick had got around 61 lakhs and thus the first week total gross of the movie from Kerala stands on 9.54 crore.

The 5th and 6th day had contributed 82 lakhs and 75 lakhs respectively. The drop in collection is constant and it is going down as each day passes. But it is an expected phenomenon when working days gets started after the weekend.
Mammootty had indeed made a great comeback through this movie. If we consider the box office performance of his movies in last 4 or 5 years, this may be the first time that a movie of his had grossed near 10 crore in its first week itself.
