Kerala Box Office : Baahubali 2 Collection Report 42 Days
Baahubali 2 : The Conclusion is nearing the end of it’s theatrical run. It’s been over a month from the movie’s release and naturally there is a dip in the collections. In Kerala, the movie is still being screened in some theatres and multiplexes. It is already the highest grossing non-Malayalam movie in Kerala.
As per trade sources, the movie has grossed a whopping Rs 71.40 crores from it’s 42 days theatrical run in the Kerala box office alone. The distributors United Global Media had bought the rights of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion for an amount of Rs 13 crores. This suggests that the distributor’s share alone is estimated to be over Rs 40 crores.
Upon it’s release on April 28, the movie registered a new record for the highest first day grosser in Kerala by raking in Rs 5.90 crores. Ever since then, the movie has been getting tremendous response from the Kerala audience. Despite a slew of releases like Dulquer Salmaan’s CIA, Ramante Edanthottam, Tovino Thomas starrer Godha and Achayans, Baahubali 2 has managed to hold firm at the box office.
The movie was released in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi languages in Kerala. In the worldwide box office, this SS Rajamouli directorial has crossed over Rs 1600 crore mark from it’s earnings in all the versions.
The movie’s Hindi version recently created a new record by becoming the first ever Hindi film to earn Rs 500 crores. It is the first Indian film to have earned Rs 500 crore in any language in the domestic market.
The Hindi version alone has grossed a whopping Rs 729 crores while the collective earnings from Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions gross is around Rs 626 crores, taking the India total of the movie to Rs 1355 crores. In the overseas market, the film has earned around Rs 312 crores gross, thus taking its worldwide total to Rs 1667 crores.
