Kunchacko Boban’s ‘Officer on Duty’ Emerges as a Blockbuster, surpassed 40 Crore Mark Worldwide
Kunchacko Boban’s latest crime thriller Officer on Duty is enjoying a super hit run at the Kerala box office, with its total collection standing at ₹20.75 crore after the second weekend. The film, made on a modest budget of ₹12 crore, has already proved to be a blockbuster and is trending strongly in its theatrical run. Despite facing competition from Unni Mukundan’s Get Set Baby, Officer on Duty has emerged as the second blockbuster of 2025 for Mollywood after Rekhachithram.
The film is also making waves globally, crossing ₹41 crore worldwide. With an all-India gross of ₹25 crore and an overseas gross exceeding ₹15 crore, the film is on track to become Kunchacko Boban’s first-ever ₹50 crore grosser. Backed by renowned producers Martin Prakkat, Renjith Nair, and Siby Chavara, the film is helmed by debutant Jithu Ashraf and scripted by Shahi Kabir (Nayattu fame). The gripping cinematography by Roby Varghese Raj, powerful music by Jakes Bejoy, and sharp editing by Chaman Chakko have further elevated the intense investigative thriller.
