Mohanlal’s Empuraan Shatters Box Office Records, Nears ₹170 Crore in Just 4 Days
Mohanlal’s L2E: Empuraan continues its record-smashing run at the box office, crossing a massive ₹150 crore worldwide gross on its 4th day. The film registered a ₹67 crore opening, followed by ₹34.5 crore on Day 2 and ₹35 crore on Day 3, bringing its three-day total to ₹136.5 crore. With Sunday’s collections expected to be ₹35+ crore, Empuraan is set to touch ₹170 crore in just four days, a historic achievement for Malayalam cinema.
The film has already surpassed the lifetime gross of Lucifer (128 crores) and Premalu (135 crores) and is now on track to beat Aavesham (156 crores) and Aadujeevitham (158 crores) by the end of Day 4. The North American market has played a key role in its overseas success, with Empuraan collecting $1,858,633 (₹15.89 crore) in just three days. The film’s breakdown includes $931,432 from the USA and $831,186 from Canada, making it the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever in North America, surpassing Manjummel Boys ($1.7M).
