Thalapathy Vijay’s Film ‘Leo’ Crosses 500 Crores Worldwide in Just 10 Days
Thalapathy Vijay has once again made a resounding impact on the global box office with his latest film, ‘Leo,’ achieving a remarkable milestone by surging past the 500 crore mark within a mere 10 days of its release. Since its premiere on October 19, the film has set a blazing trail of success, resonating strongly with audiences worldwide.
Reports indicate that the movie has amassed a staggering domestic gross of nearly 300 crores, coupled with an overseas gross of approximately 200 crores. This feat positions ‘Leo’ as the 7th South Indian film and the 3rd Tamil film to breach the 500 crore mark globally, following the footsteps of Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’ and ‘Jailer,’ both of which achieved this milestone earlier. Notably, these predecessors soared past 600 crores, sparking curiosity as to whether ‘Leo’ will surpass the 600-crore mark or even become the pioneering Tamil film to exceed 700 crores.
In addition to the aforementioned Tamil films, only four other South Indian films have crossed the 500 crore threshold, namely ‘Baahubali,’ ‘Baahubali 2,’ ‘RRR,’ and ‘KGF 2.’ Impressively, among these, ‘Baahubali 2,’ ‘KGF 2,’ and ‘RRR’ have also crossed the 1000 crore mark, solidifying their monumental success.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, ‘Leo,’ starring Vijay, is a production of Seven Screen Studio and marks a significant addition to Lokesh’s esteemed Lokesh Cinematic Universe.
This remarkable achievement of ‘Leo’ showcases the immense global appeal of Thalapathy Vijay and the burgeoning success of Tamil cinema on the international stage.
