2.0 teaser to be screened in 3D in select theatres
As informed earlier by the makers, the teaser of 2.0 will be released on September 13, the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi. There was a buzz that the teaser will also have a 3D version, and it has now been confirmed by the makers. Producers, Lyca Productions, released a statement last day informing that the teaser will be screened in 3D format in select theatres in India and abroad. The list of theatres where the 3D teaser has been planned to be screened will be released in the next few days.
2.0 is said to be the first Indian movie to be shot entirely in 3D format. The makers have invested a whopping Rs 450 crores, which makes it the most expensive Indian film ever. Ace filmmaker Shankar is directing the movie which has two of India’s biggest superstars – Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar – coming together for the first time.
While Rajinikanth appears in a dual role as scientist Vaseegaran and the robot Chitti, Akshay Kumar essays the antagonist’s role. Amy Jackson plays the female lead. Shankar has scripted the movie jointly with Jeyamohan. Many internationally acclaimed technicians are associated with 2.0.
Academy Award winners AR Rahman and Resul Pookkutty handle the music and sound department respectively. Nirva Shah has cranked the camera. Legacy Effects, who have worked in movies like Avengers, Jurassic Park, Iron Man etc. are working on the animatronics. National award winner Srinivas Mohan is supervising the VFX works.
2.0 is scheduled to hit screens worldwide on November 29.
