27 years of Vijay: Thalapathy 64 release a special new still
Tamil superstar Vijay, who is fondly called Thalapathy by his fans, has completed 27 years in the film industry today (December). Though he started his acting career as a child artist in Vetri (1984), it was ‘Naalaiya Theerpu’ in which he played a full-fledged debut. The film directed by his father SA Chandrasekhar and produced by his mother Sobha Chandrasekhar got released on December 4, 1992.
So as Vijay completes 27 glorious years in cinema, he has now reached a position that’s at an untouchable height. On this special occasion, his fans have been trending the hashtag #27YrsOfKwEmperorVIJAY in Twitter. The makers of his film, ‘Thalapthy 64’ (tentative title) have also released a special new still. It is not yet clear if this is the look Vijay will be sporting in the film.

‘Thalapathy 64’ directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is one of the most hyped Tamil films in recent years. Vijay Sethupathi, ‘Kaithi’ fame Arjun Das, Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthanu and Malavika Mohanan are part of the cast. The team recently wrapped up the schedule in New Delhi and is next moving to Shimoga, Karnataka. They are planning to shoot there for over a month from December 1 to January 19. XB Pictures is producing the film, which is scheduled for April 2020 release.
