5 Malayalam films selected in the Indian Panaroma section at the 51st International Film Festival of India
Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar announced that 20 non-feature and 23 feature films have been selected in the Indian Panaroma section at the 51st International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The 9-day festival, which was originally scheduled to take place in Goa from November 20-28, got postponed due to the pandemic. It will now be held from January 16 to January 24.
5 Malayalam films have also been selected in the Indian Panorama section. ‘Thahira’, ‘Kettyolaan Ente Malakha’, ‘Safe’, ‘Kappela’ and ‘Trance’ are the 5 films. ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ starring Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar, will be the opening film for the Panorama section at the festival. Late actor Sushanth Singh Rajput’s ‘Chhichhore’, ‘Kappela’ and the superhit Dhanush-Vetrimaaran film ‘Asuran’ are the three films in the Mainstream Cinema section.

The films were selected by an internal committee of Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF) based on the recommendations of Film Federation of India (FFI) and Producer’s Guild. Writer-director John Mathew Matthan headed the jury this year.
