Aamir Khan’s transformation video for Dangal goes viral
Aamir Khan’s upcoming movie is Dangal, a sports drama based on the life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat who trained his daughters, Babita Phogat and Geetha Kumari in wrestling.
Aamir Khan did an incredible body transformation for the movie for playing the lead character. His character has two different looks, one as a old man with a flabby tummy and grey hair and the other in his prime age as a wrestler with a chiseled physique.
The makers have now released a video showing the efforts and dedication he took to perfect the two distinct looks. Aamir Khan put on 28 kilos before the shoot for playing the older part. He weighed about 95 kgs during that time. Later, for playing the character’s younger age he shed 15 kg and worked hard for a ripped body to look perfect as a wrestler. He has not used any body double for the wrestling scenes in the movie.
Aamir Khan’s transformation was in the news earlier when some location stills were leaked during the shoot. He consciously stayed away from public events and functions to maintain his looks. The actor had breathing problems and other ailments while putting weight for the movie. His fans and family were concerned about the risk he was taking for the sake of a movie. But Aamir known for his perfection was willing to go to any extent to look perfect as the character demanded it.
The video released by the makers have gone viral and the actor is being showered with praise from all corners for his dedication and hard work.
Dangal is directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao and Sidharth Roy Kapoor is jointly producing the movie under the banner Aamir Khan Productions and Disney World Cinemas.
Dangal is scheduled to release on 23 December 2016.
