Aashiq Abu’s Virus starts rolling in Kozhikode
As we had reported earlier, Aashiq Abu’s next is based on the Nipah outbreak that shook the state of Kerala. The movie titled as ‘Virus’ has a star-studded cast and crew. Shoot has commenced today in Calicut Medical college. The movie is scripted jointly by Muhsin Parari of ‘KL 10 Pathu’ fame and Suhas and Sharfu, the writers of ‘Varathan’ fame.
‘Virus’ has an ensemble cast comprising of Revathy, Tovino Thomas, Parvathy, Asif Ali, Rima Kallingal, Soubin Shahir, Dileesh Pothan, Chemban Vinod Jose and Remya Nambeeshan. It was initially announced that Kalidas Jayaram would be a part of the movie, but it was later reported that he got replaced by Sreenath Bhasi. Fahadh Faasil is also said to be playing a guest role in the movie.
‘Virus’ is not exactly a real-life story but is inspired from several events that occurred during the Nipah outbreak last May. Contrary to reports, the movie is not an anthology but has interconnected stories set all over Kerala. Veteran actress Revathy plays the role of Health Minister KK Shailaja and Rima Kallingal plays nurse Lini Puthussery, who contracted the virus and passed away while treating the affected patients. Tovino Thomas will be seen as Kozhikode collector UV Jose.
The technical crew of ‘Virus’ includes National award winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, composer Sushin Shyam and editor Saiju Sreedharan.
