All Lights India International Film Festival is all set to start from this Sunday, 15th of November at Kochi and the grand festival will be inaugurated by the legendary film maker of Indian Cinema, Mr. Shyam Benegal. Along with it he will also inaugurate the much talked about much awaited Indywood Film Market as well. The function will be held at Le Meridian Hotel Kochi at 6 PM in the evening. The first film to be shown in the festival as the inaugural film of the event will be the Iranian Film directed by Jaffer Panahi which had earlier won the Golden Bear Award in Berlin International Film festival. The show will be held at Cine Polis Kochi and the time of the show will be 5 PM in the evening.
The Film festival will be 5 days long and there will be 135 films from 34 countries and they will be screened under 8 different categories as well. Cine Polis Kochi will be the center of most of the screenings and the films for children will be screened at Darbar Hall. Indywood Film Market will be centered at Le Meridian as well. The competition section of the film festival will have 50 films and the Golden Frame Awards will be given to feature film, documentaries, short films and to debutant directors as well. The jury will be headed by Iranian director Kosro Masumi. Legendary Malayalam director Adoor Gopala Krishnan will be honored there by showing his two films Anantharam and Koodiyattam there at the festival.
Cinema for care, Cinema for children, Cinema for Women, world cinema, musical films etc are the different sections along with Czech-Slovakian films, Malayalam films etc. The festival will provide opportunity for audience to interact with Bollywood director Kabir Khan, Mollywood director Lijo Jose Pellissery etc about different aspects of filmmaking, its technical and production aspects etc.
The Indywood Film Market will start with the International Film Business award given to the top film business agents, distributors etc. Celebrities from Hollywood, Bollywood and also from many regional languages from India will attend the function.
Mohanlal and Kamal Haasan will be the brand ambassadors of Malayalm and Tamil cinema respectively. Along with them, Venkitesh, Kalki Kocheline, Subodh Bhave, Prasoonjith Chatterjee, Kicha Sudeep, Manju Warrier, Nikki Galrani etc also taking part in this film festival as representatives of different regions and sections. The Indywood Film Market will provide a global platform for Indian films. FEFKA , the technician’s association of Mollywood cinema is also a part of organizing this with Aliiff and Indywood.
