Alphonse Puthren reveals that he had plans to make a Tamil film with Mammootty and Arun Vijay
It has been five years since the release of the blockbuster film ‘Premam’. Strangely, its director Alphonse Puthren is yet to make another film after that. Cinephiles are all eagerly waiting to hear from Alphonse about his next project but he has been tight-lipped all this while. Interestingly, Alphonse had tried to kick-start a few projects but they could not materialize due to one reason or the other.
In a recent interview to Film Companion, the two-film-old director revealed that he had plans to make a Tamil film with Malayalam superstar Mammootty and Arun Vijay. Needless to say, an Alphonse Puthren, Mammootty, Arun Vijay combo would have been mouth-watering but unfortunately, the project didn’t take off as the budget was high.
Alphonse is currently learning music from online sources as he is planning to make a musical next. Kalidas Jayaram was the initial choice but he got busy with other commitments. As of now, the director is yet to finalize the cast.
