Angamaly Diaries fame Sarath Kumar makes his Tamil debut with Vishal!
Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Angamaly Diaries introduced a bunch of talented actors to the world of cinema. One of the most impressive performers among them was Sarath Kumar, who played the role of Appani Ravi. He left a huge mark with his stellar perfomance as the prime antagonist.
Sarath does not have the conventional looks of an actor. But with his knockout performance, he proved that physical looks are not very important as long as one possesses real talent. The movie opened gates to a slew of offers as he was roped in for several big projects.
After sharing screen space with superstar Mohanlal in Velipadinte Pusthakam, Sarath is now making his entry to Kollywood. Reportedly, he is be playing a crucial role in the seqeul of Sandakozhi, directed by Lingusamy.
Sandakozhi, released in 2005, was an action packed mass entertainer that had veteran Malayali actor Lal as the villain. In the sequel, actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar will be seen as the antagonist. Raj Kiran, who played a prominent role in the first part, will be reprising his role in the sequel. Keerthy Suresh has been roped in as the female lead. There are unconfirmed reports about Meera Jasmine also being a part of the cast.
Yuvan Shankar Raja, who scored the music for the first is in charge of music for the sequel as well. The film is being funded by Vishal’s own production house Vishal Film Factory.
‘Appani’ Sarath also has a couple of Malayalam films in his kitty. He is playing the lead role in debutant Safeer Thailan’s Amala, in which Aanandam fame Anarkali Marikkar will be seen as the female lead. Sarath is also part of Neeraj Madhav’s Paippinchuvattile Pranayam.
