Atlee rates Mahanati as an unforgettable classic!

Mahanati, the Telugu biopic on legendary actress Savitri continues to get rave reviews from all corners. The movie was released last day to overwhelming response from the audience. Social medias are abuzz with praise for the makers for coming up with a fitting tribute for the great actress. Filmmakers like SS Rajamouli, Vamsi Paidipally and many others had lauded director Nag Ashwin and his team for Mahanati.

Tamil filmmaker Atlee, who has directed blockbuster like Theri and Mersal, heaped praise on Mahanati team through his social media handle. He was all praise for the two lead ladies – Samantha and Keerthy – both of whom have given their career best performances. Atlee’s post reads,

Mahanati has Keerthy Suresh playing Savitri while Dulquer Salmaan, who is making his Telugu debut, essays the role of Gemini Ganesan. The movie follows Savitri’s life from the 1940s to 1980s. The story evolves as two journalists, played by Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda, set out to piece together the story of Savitri’s life. The cast also includes Naga Chaitanya, Shalini Pandey, Malavika Nair, Prakash Raj, Rajendra Prasad and Mohan Babu.

Mahanati’s Tamil (Nadigayar Thilagam) and Malayalam (Mahanadi) versions are slated for release on May 11.
