Baahubali 2 video leaked; case registered against graphic designer
Raw visual footage from the upcoming magnum opus Baahubali2 was stolen and uploaded without the knowledge of the makers. The producer of the have movie filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police department of Hyderabad.
Baahubali 2 : The Conclusion is the sequel to the all time blockbuster movie Baahubali The Beginning, which was released in 2015. The movie was a multilingual which went on to become the country’s biggest blockbuster.
Producer of the movie Y Shobhanadri, lodged a complaint alleging that he saw video clippings of Baahubali 2 footage on YouTube. He has alleged that the video could have been stolen only from the
Annapurna Studios, where the footage was given for design work.
ACP Cyber Crimes, Hyderabad commissionerate, KCS Raghu Vir has said that Krishna Dayanand Chowdary, a trainee graphics designer working at the Annapurna studios stole the footage by logging into the server.
The police checked Krishna Dayanand Chowdary’s computer in his home and found two clips of 9 minutes duration. He confessed that he shared the clips through Whatsapp to two of his close friends.
According to the police, the production team had given 12 minutes of footage to Annapurna studios for graphics designing work. Krishna stole nine minutes footage.
Police has seized Krishna’s cell phone, computer and a pen drive. During further questioning, Krishna confessed that he logged into the computer server at the graphics design unit of Annapurna studios
and copied six minutes audio visual footage of the movie into his pen drive.
A case has been registered against Krishna Dayanand Chowdary under the copyright act. The police also confirmed they will be writing to YouTube to block Baahubali-2 footage being streamed online.
The makers had earlier said that the extensive post production works for CG and VFX itself will take more than six months time. Baahubali 2 : The Conclusion is scheduled to release for April next year.
