Barroz Preview Impresses Ahead of IMAX 3D Release, Targeting December 2024 Launch
Mohanlal’s much-anticipated directorial debut, Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure, is set to make a grand entry into theaters with a December 2024 release, just in time for Christmas. Initially slated for an October 3rd launch, the release was postponed due to extended post-production work, but fans can expect the fantasy-adventure film to arrive in a visually spectacular IMAX 3D format.
The film boasts a star-studded crew, including acclaimed cinematographer Santhosh Sivan, composer Lydian Nadhaswaram for the songs, and Mark Kilian for the background score. Editing duties are helmed by B Ajith Kumar. Mohanlal, apart from directing, plays the lead role of Barroz, a 400-year-old guardian of a mythical treasure.
Adding to its global appeal, Barroz features a predominantly international cast, with actors from Portugal, Spain, and other foreign countries. The film will be released in nine languages, aiming for a worldwide audience with its cutting-edge 3D visuals and immersive IMAX experience.
The makers recently previewed Barroz at Mumbai’s PVR Cinemas, and the response has left the team, including Mohanlal, extremely delighted. With its stellar crew and technological finesse, Barroz is poised to be a major cinematic event this holiday season.
