Actor Sidharth, Vishu Vishal, Udayanidhi Stalin etc are very much active in Chennai by arranging shelter and providing transportation service for people there. Rajinikanth had given rupees 10 Lakhs rupees through his charitable trust named Raghavendra Public charitable trust. Actor Dhanush reportedly given 5 lakhs and Suriya and family had given 25 lakhs. Karthi also given rupees 10 lakhs to the fund. Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay had given rupees 5 crore to the relief fund and Raghavendra Lawrence had given 1 crore as well. Actor Vishal had given 10 lakhs as well for the fund. Kamal Haasan who slammed the government for their irresponsibility in this situation also donated 5 crore to the fund.
Thala Ajith reportedly donated 60 lakh rupees to the fund and he had provided shelter for 180 flood victims at his own house. His wife Shalini also with him to help the people of Chennai by giving food and arranging shelter for them. Tollywood stars Kalyan Ram, Jr NTR, Sampoornesh Babu given 50 thousand, 10 lakhs and 5 lakhs each to the fund respectively as well. Allu Arjun had given 25 lakhs and Mahesh Babu given 10 Lakhs as per reports.
Mollywood actors are coming forward with more wise contributions as well. According to them more than money what the people of Chennai really need id food, drinking water, clothes, shelter, Medicine etc and Mohanlal and Mammootty together with their family and friends had contributed food worth 10 lakhs. Dileep had sent 5 loads of pure drinking water to Chennai. Others such as Renjith, Manju Warrier, Suresh Krishnan, Kaniha etc also came forward with their contribution.
The celebrities not only gives this but also spreads the need to do this and they are sharing the information about the places where shelter is available as well.
