As the release date for ‘Mamangam’ is closing in, the makers are also actively promoting the film in social medias. A new set of stills featuring Mammootty, Unni Mukundan and Prachi Tehlan have been released online. The film directed by M Padmakumar will be releasing in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi languages. Dubbing works are progressing in full swing.
‘Mamangam’, as per the makers, is a historic film with almost 80% of it being inspired from true events. The film is based on the religious festival, Mamangam, that took place every 12 years in a place called Thirunavaya, on the banks of Bharathapuzha, for over 280 years.
The film’s original director Sajeev Pillai penned the script, which was later adapted by Shankar Ramakrishnan.
Mammootty plays a chaaver in the film. Along with him, Unni Mukundan is also essaying a very important character named Chandroth Panicker. The makers have repeatedly stressed that ‘Mamangam’ is not a ‘Baahubali’ like film. Recently, in an interview, director Padmakumar said that he would love to call the film an emotional thriller that features big war like sequences.
Kaniha, Anu Sithara, Prachi Tehlan, Tarun Arora, Suresh Krishna, Manikuttan, Abu Salim, Manikandan, Ineya, Siddique, Sudev Nair and Sudheer Sukumaran are also part of the supporting cast. The film is scheduled to hit screens on November 21.
